Virginia Midterm Crash Course:

HOW TO USE THIS ZINE

Youth can use this zine as a way to…

→ Talk with your people about the problems that matter most to them. In Virginia, we have elections every year at some level of government (local, state, and federal). Rather than getting caught in electoral burnout, we can use electoral cycles as opportunities to talk to our people about the issues that matter most to them, and build real power and solidarity beyond the ballot box.

→ Learn about key decision makers & identify pressure points. This is a critical time to identify key issues in our communities, how people are impacted by them, and who has the power to enact solutions. Getting to know who the decision-makers are on the issues that matter to you and your community can help you to map power and build out strategic campaigns that shift material conditions.

→ Reflect on what matters most to you. This zine has spaces for you to reflect on what issues matter most to you and how they are impacting you in real-time.
